Individual Tiles - Chillies

Hand drawn and painted chillies inspired by natures larder and a wonderful local farm shop stocked with a large selection of colourful fruits and vegetables. These exotic chillies are painted in vibrant reds and greens that really stand out in the off white crackle glaze. The tiles are hand made, painted and bisque fired. The liquid latex is applied and tile is glazed and fired in Raku kiln. Still hot, the tile is placed in a sawdust pit allowing the smoke to penetrate the crazing in the glaze. This design would be great dotted in and around plain tiles in a kitchen.

Graphite Bees, Butterflies and Bugs

The insect idea was stirred from the gentle humming of springtime. These 6 different insect designs are beautifully drawn using graphite. The set works great as a panel or individually dotted around a kitchen or bathroom.

Other individual insect tiles also include dragonflies and moths. These designs have been applied directly with latex, which give an etching effect, leaving more of the smoked clay exposed.

Plain tiles

The plain tiles are fired in the same way only without the latex or the design. Each tile has a different crazing effect, which works well as a boarder for your designed tiles or to compliment the individual tiles that are dotted around your feature.
